The town itself lies in a crescent occupying the hills surrounding Oban Bay and is a busy town with great accommodation, cafes and restaurants, and wide selection of activities and day trips.
The most outstanding feature within Oban is McCaig’s Tower, the Colosseum lookalike which stands above the town and features in many of the postcards to be found on George Street.
Alexandra Apartments are the ideal base for seeing more of the breathtaking west coast of Scotland. There are many places to visit in Oban itself but you could take advantage of the local ferries and discover the islands of Mull & Iona, Colonsay, Tiree&Coll to name just a few. See Calmac for details.
From the silver sands of Mallaig, and the majestic scenery of Glencoe & Rannoch, to the distinctive cultural delights of Inveraray, Campbeltown and Dunoon, there are wonders waiting in every direction.
