The Vailankanni Residency stands at a strategic confluence of different faiths. It is a stone's throw away from the Vailankanni shrine and Church (also known as the Lourdes of the East) and other places of tourist and religious interest. Take a day tour and visit them all or choose one and take a short pilgrimage.

Vailankanni, being in the coastal belt, has a humid climate all through the year. Summers (March to May) are hot and can reach 38 °C. The evenings are pleasant with a cool sea breeze. Monsoons (June to September) offer a temperate climate accompanied with mild to medium rain falls. Winters (December to February) have a moderate climate ranging from 21°C to 30°C.
